Your Camera. This will be your single biggest investment into your business. Phone cameras are super handy but nothing beats the quality of the images you get from a DSLR camera!

This is due to their larger sensors. These enable you to blow up your images without the limits of a phone camera’s resolution which will in turn allow you to offer high resolution images, prints and products to your clients when you start your business.

A sensor converts an image (light) into an electronic signal read as a digital image. Full frame cameras are more expensive but offer higher resolution & a superior sensor (larger sensor size).

This allows the camera to capture more light and handle lower light situations more easily.

A cropped sensor camera has limitations (it only ‘sees’ a portion of the image the lens is trying to project onto it-smaller sensor size). I started with an entry level DSLR Canon EOS Rebel but got frustrated with it’s limitations over time!

When I upgraded my camera to a full framed sensor, I chose the Canon 5D Mark iii. This gave me better low light performance, resolution and allowed me to decrease my editing time and frustration. The Canon 5D Mark ii & iii are discontinued new which means you can buy used or move to the  5D Mark iv. This is the next generation of Canon models. You can also find the comparative Nikon model if you prefer Nikon;).
